Riding a Halfbike out in the open is a real treat. However many of us are stuck to a busy city for most of our days and having to navigate through the urban jungle can be a challenge. Tell us if you have found a hack to make things a little less stressful and more enjoyable.

Always, always have in mind that the rear tyres are wider, especially when going around a crowded street, in traffic and on a bicycle lane.

My approach is to be flexible. Whenever necessary, I just hop off (you can do it without breaking, if you're not going to fast) and carry it a bit, and then hop on again. Also, if you have gears, the heaviest gear provides more stability, if you want to go in a straight line.

Personally I love to ride among people, moving like a shark, taking sharp turns. Not sure the people love it as much :D For riding in traffic (cars) the halfbike is not among the most suitable transportation devices. The problem is not that it's wider, but that roads tend to have shafts and uneven areas exactly where you normally position yourself. Provided you can avoid these and not get hit by a car it's all good.

I love zipping in and out like you say, Serge! I will say this having wrecked many times, don't break the moneymaker!!! Last year — at probably between 15-18 mph down a bridge ramp I hit FOD and ended up parallel with the ground before crashing and causing many layers of missing tattooed skin (I wasn't wearing a helmet that day..I wanted to look 'cool' as I was already 500+ miles in as a self-proclaimed 'pro' Half Bike rider, lol). I was lucky to have landed with my left arm extended and my head crashing in to my shoulder/outstretched arm instead of the ground...no concussion! So, if you're not wearing a helmet, you're gambling with your life!! PS: I've crashed a few more times, since...some by almost getting run over by a left turning car, but bones heal, head trauma...not so much...ride safe everyone!

Riding the halfbike in crowded spaces is a real treat, normal bikes are much bigger and thus harder to manouver. The halfbike is so small that its is super easy and no problem at all. Only isseu is that you dont have a bell mounted on it so occasionally i just yell: "ring ring" hehe.
