1. Tell us a little bit about yourself (job, hobbies, etc.) . Where are you from? I’m from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in the United States. I am a writer and do some portrait photography on the side. My hobbies include (you guessed it) writing, playing guitar, reading and gaming. 2. How did you hear about Halfbike? What made you commit to this new sport? What's your favorite thing about it? I think Halfbike popped up in a period of time where I was pretty actively looking at interesting projects on Kickstarter. It looked really cool but it was something I had to file away for a while because of other commitments and expenses. The wait worked out great because the Halfbike 3 was out when I was ready to buy. What made me commit was that it seemed like a cross between skateboarding and biking. It looked like you could just bail off while learning and that turned out to be true. The learning curve was challenging but also rewarding as you started to make better turns and maintain your balance. One of my favorite aspects of the halfbike are the brakes. The new braking system is amazing and makes me feel more confident controlling speed on downhills than when I tried out things like longboarding or kick scooters. I also really like how small it folds for transport or storage. 3. How did your commute/habits change since you got on a Halfbike? How did it look before that? My whole experience with the halfbike has been during remote work due to COVID-19, so I haven’t changed anything about my commute. I don’t anticipate commuting on it but I still am very happy with the purchase. My main goals were getting more exercise and spending more time outdoors (away from the spin bike), and I think the halfbike helped me achieve those goals during the late spring, summer and fall. 4. Anything else? The Halfbike support team has been awesome answering questions (cheers especially to Bobby). I look forward to continue progressing with this awesome tool for exercise and transportation. I also look forward to whatever innovation is in store for the future of the Halfbike, be it an indoor trainer or new accessories or models.
