I haven`t had the chance to ride it too many times. But from the 5-6 times i did i cam day It is hard. Puts a lot of pressure on the quads. I end up with patellar pain every time. Probably mostly caused by the need to ride it fast to stay pretty much balanced on it. It`s also quite easy to go into fishtail loop with it. Once you go over a tiny bump or pothole the body needs to quickly figure out the balance or you`re off. I almost every time have bruises on the back of my legs from the pedals hitting me when i try to emergently stop. So far with the target negative feedback. On the positive side: it`s an absolute fun to ride it. Rides smoothly and fast. Heads always turn. People are curious. Random talks with strangers asking what it is. The positive feeling much outbeats the negatives!

It’s a fun “bike”. If you’re an avid bicycle rider like I am it won’t replace that, but it is a fun different riding experience. If you have an exercise/workout routine it’s not going to replace that either lol (like the marketing claims), but it is a good aerobic and leg workout if you go very far on it. Build quality is good but not great. A bit overpriced for what it is, but overall I enjoy playing around on it. Yes people will look at you trying to figure out what it is (in case you like the extra attention lol 😄)

Hello Halfbike-builders, I am very happy with the purchase of my Halfbike! One thing could be improved: the (strong enough) attachment of the foldable ‘steering column’: I replaced the rondelles and the rubber rings of the clamps with wider ones and it is now better, but the clamps could still be holding better while biking. But: (Almost 60 years of age) I have a 3-fold hernia in my back and could no longer jog, because of the shocks it causes to my back. Now I can ‘jog’ again without feeling any shocks. And: the constant balance that I have to keep when riding strengthens my back muscles, for sure. As a result, I have already had less back pain after riding than before. Kind regards to the team! (PS: I am sharing a picture of myself on a sunny Sunday in the ‘Bois de la Cambre’, the so-called Brussels Central Park: I had only been started 2 weeks at that time and I could already go up and down the slopes !...)

It’s kind of challenging to start with, especially when you’re not the type easily finding your balance (like a dancer or a gymnast). I am still learning. So far, this cycle doesn’t seem meant for indolent sightseeing on the countryside. It’s more like cardio-training or mountain biking in the alps. I can’t recommend enough installing hand-bars which I think should be standard, especially if you’re a tall person. Overall, a lot of fun and keeps you fit!

J’apprécie le Halfbike depuis Noël ! Des débuts difficiles … j’ai rien lâché ! Je vais travailler quotidiennement avec ! 1.8 km par jour. La maîtrise viens doucement et je me sent désormais à l’aise Le plaisir est toujours bien la ! On sent le travail des cuisses et le cardio n’est pas en reste ! Les gens se retournent étonnés de vous voir ainsi. Prochaine étape … le tour de la ville ! Ce week-end ?

I purchased the halfbike looking for a more complete workout than bicycle riding. It sure is a workout! I haven't gotten out on it as much as I like as I bought it in December (I live in the northern US.) so it's taken a few times to learn to ride it (as well as a pretty good fall) since the cold has kept the rides somewhat short. But, it does what I hoped...a much quicker workout than on a regular bike. I only have one design issue and that is with the quick release bolts for the handle bars. I don't know how to work those very quickly as it takes a bit to get them to run up into the channel. They have to be unscrewed almost to the end in order to get them into the handlebar's channel. What ends up happening is that I use the quick release levers as basically just a wing nut. They don't hold their position like a regular quick releases on a regular bicycle wheel. It's not a big deal, it's just that they don't really function as quick release levers. The only other thing is that I wear a size 11.5 shoe and my feet are long enough that they hit the back wheels once in a while. It's a bit scary when that happens. Other than that, it really is a remarkable piece of kit. I get thoroughly worn out on it and I'm looking forward to when I get into better shape to ride it longer distances. The Halfbike is simply so much fun! At first, it was more challenging than I expected, but after a short practice period, it’s really fun to ride. It provides an exceptional and highly effective coordination workout. What impressed me most was how the Halfbike teaches the importance of leaning and optimal force and balance distribution when taking curves. A must-try for anyone looking for a fun and athletic challenge!

I ordered a halfbike online, with a 30 days trial period. The package weighted a lot less than I expected (nice!) and the construction was do-able with the instruction-video (but why they have a different order of construction-steps in the video vs the manual puzzles me). I've tried the halfbike in several sessions, but couldn't manage it. I find the handlebar too narrow/not wide enough and I didn't manage to withhold my reflex to dismount the bike if I was out of balance. So even after an extended trial period I had to conclude that riding a halfbike wasn't for me. Too bad, because I think it would have been a great workout and I was looking forward to riding it in the woods and the dunes.

At first, it was quite unsettling when you know what a regular bike is. Once you get the hang of it, it’s like a drug a very good drug and it pays off in fun and exercise. I recommend it to anybody who wants to try something new and enjoy themselves outside without any joint pain.

I have start using the bike this summer and the only thing I found that could be upgraded is most of the fasteners (bolts, brackets) don’t looks as hight quality as we might need. I see on FB many people that shows broken parts.

I give it four stars, because I still have not mastered turning - it’s harder than I thought, but with practice I know I will love this workout

It really takes a moment before you can ride the halfike. But then it's great fun and unexpectedly fast. For me personally (198 cm and 100 kg weight) it would be even better if the frame was a little (10 to 15 cm) longer (better directional stability) and a little stiffer. A lot of energy is lost through the soft frame. I would also strengthen the suspension for the steering. So, to summarize: Great idea, good quality but for me personally there is room for improvement. I'm actually thinking about having a half bike built that meets my needs.

I was very curious about half-bike so i could not resist to a special sale offer last september. I've always appreciated the honest and complete way of communication of the producer, and I spent time to learn about half-bike before its delivery. The declared learning time steps were particularly useful to me. I've been practicing for the last five months with lot of fun , but I'm not using halbike as a mean of transport as I hoped, alternatively to bike or to walking for instance. The difficulty of going on hilly roads is another critical aspect: although it's quite easy on plain and well-paved paths, it's not easy on sloping surfaces.

I love the half bike and would have enjoyed using it but I am unable to conquer it. I’m 52 yrs old and my balance isn’t like it use to be and I don’t feel safe riding it as an injury would be detrimental to my employment. I am looking to put it up for sale soon.

So at my age of 60, this is a very cool device. I can’t take running impact anymore. Bicycle workouts take too long to get a workout in and stay employed and married. It involves more exertion per unit distance than a bicycle. My lower back can’t take roller blades anymore. I have been able to get honest 45 minute workouts in on my Halfbike before my work day if I focus on keeping a pace and compete against myself. 12 laps around the block is almost 11 miles, 45 to 46 minutes, and I feel spent enough to feel good. I’m using it more than my rower and ski ergometer because the fun of being outdoors calls me more. Some issues. Broke left crank arm several times. Current one is holding and I have been told they were redesigned (though they look similar). Snapped a couple of top pins. Current one has been holding for a while. I haven’t minded replacing these items because I find the Halfbike that fun and effective. The Halfbike team is very helpful via email when help is needed. I see people complain about the price on social media, but I think it’s ok priced.

I received the bike back in 5/17/22. It looked very well built, but on first gear it would make this clicking noise, and loose grip on the gear, causing the pedal to slip. I sent an email and was told to record a video while it was doing it. Well, I would really like someone to show me how to ride the bike with one hand, while holding my phone with the other, and bending over to record all the moving parts. If you learned how to ride this bike, I think you would agree with me, that it would be almost impossible. The best I could do was record the clicking noise and slippage of the pedal. Anyways, they wanted me work on the bike. I had to loosen this, tighten that, adjust this and adjust that. I paid close to a thousand dollars for this bike, and I don't feel I should be doing all this work on this bike. All of this should have been done before shipping it to me. I'm not a bike expert, and do not have the time to work on this bike. I just wanted to ride it. Whoever sent it to me, should have noticed that the bike was going to ship to a different country, and maybe, just maybe, should have ridden the bike, to make sure the bike was working properly. We are talking about the first gear here. Which means, nobody bothered to even roll the bike for a couple of seconds. I believe on paying good money for products, because usually you get a high quality, durable product. unfortunately, not this time.

En mi opinión es fantántisco, es muy divertido circular con el y se hace mucho ejercicio físico. La calidad del producto es buena pero se podrían mejorar algunas cosas, como por ejemplo el sistema de tornillos que permite plegar la halfbike, se afloja muy facilmente teniendo que apretarlo constantemente y el paso de rosca del tornillo superior se partió al mes de tenerlo, como estaba en garantía Halfbike me envió la pieza para sustituirlo, sin conste alguno. Un saludo

Got my halfbike3 back in June, was easy to assemble(thanks to YouTube video), took me some time to learn how to ride it properly. My feet size is around uk44 so sometimes the back of the sole may scratch the ground/back tires. Still a lot of fun riding it and can manage doing an 8 turn within a smaller space now. The other thing I found is that as it’s a standing bike, riders with big feet may want to ride it with harder sole shoes to avoid soreness/tiredness in the feet while/after riding. Anyway to sum it up, it’s a very good bike to play with!
